After quite a period of confusion as to what roadworks and closures are actually going to take place (and when), we now have received the following clarification:
Closure of Kellet Road. Two weekend road closures at The Narrows on Kellet Road have been put back until 26th/27th October and 2nd/3rd November 2024. (These closures had previously been notified as 12th/13th October and 19th/20th October). This postponement has been made to avoid a conflict with an emergency road closure on Back Lane that was on the diversion route. The Back Lane works are due to be completed before the 26th October 2024.
We understand that over the two weekends mentioned, Stagecoach will be diverting their bus Service 49 as in previous closures, with a temporary bus stop on Church Bank. The service will divert back from Church Bank to reach Carnforth via Back Lane.
Closure of Nether Kellet Road. A further closure of Nether Kellet Road is planned for the week of 6th to 10th January 2025 to permit utility repair and maintenance work by Electricity North-West. We anticipate that diversion arrangements as above will again be employed to maintain the running of Stagecoach service 49.
