Would you like to become a Parish Councillor and help make the Parish of Over Kellet a better place to live?
We currently have three Councillor vacancies on Over Kellet Parish Council.
The Council can fill these vacancies by co-option, which is a process whereby the Council considers applications from interested persons and can then select individuals to fill the vacant seats.
If you are interested in becoming a Parish Councillor, please have a look at the following documents, which give details of the role and the co-option process.
The closing date for applications will be Friday, 2nd December 2022 and the Parish Council will aim to make appointments at its meeting on Tuesday, 13th December 2022
Please note that Parish Council elections are due in May 2023, so these co-options are for a temporary period of 4-5 months. This is therefore an ideal opportunity for you to find out more about being a Parish Councillor and what you can contribute to the parish.
Residents should also be aware that not all of the current Councillors plan to stand for re-election in May 2023 and, without any new candidates, the continued operation of the Parish Council could be in some jeopardy.
